- At the beginning of summer, third group of teachers from our municipality took part in the Erasmus + project. This time three teachers Karolina Wojciechowska from Lubicz Dolny, Barbara Winkler from Młyniec Pierwszy, and Jakub Grochowski from Złotoria came to Lisaboan, Portugal to participate in a teacher training called Robotica Eductiva /Educational Robotics.
Besides them, there were also native teachers. During the five-day course led by Mrs Paula Abrantes, the participants had an opportunity to use programming skills in practice via computer using a robot and software devoted to the series LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT. Teacher’s tasks were creating scripts in groups of three. Each robot had to move to basic directions (forward, to the right/left), move in a circle, a letter-”s”-shape, but also on indicated lines. The last task was to move four vehicles and at the same time to capture some kind of similarity between Polish and Portuguese folk dances. During the tasks, there was a lot of opportunities to exchange ideas and opinions between the groups.
The five-day training has developed skills which use new technologies, which not only will help the teachers to introduce students to the digital era but also to improve the process of teaching and learning and make the content of a lesson more appealing to students. The teachers had also a chance to communicate with other teachers and the course tutor they had to use English so they also practised their language skills. In addition to that, the teachers learnt about the history and culture of Spain.
At the end of the training, everyone received certificates. The training provided the teachers with lots of new ideas about how to use educational technology and programming in their teaching.
